Custom Bamboo Fly rod
BAMBOO FLY ROD Making EXPERIENCE IN Utah
Conveniently located in beautiful Heber Valley, Utah, minutes from the Provo River and just 15 minutes from downtown Park City, our new bamboo fly rod-making shop is opening its doors to anglers looking for a unique, hands-on experience.
This fall, we're launching week-long courses led by a master rod craftsman with 25 years of experience shaping bamboo into some of the finest fly rods on the water. He and our staff will guide you through every stage in a fully equipped, state-of-the-art shop, using the one and only Montana Rod Makers Bamboo Hand Plane.
Classes are capped at just eight participants, so you'll get the personal attention real craftsmanship demands. By the end of the week, you'll walk away with a rod you built yourself and the skills to build the next one.
The price for the class is $2,800 and includes all instruction and, of course, your new bamboo rod with storage tube, as well as breakfast and lunch during the class, and one team dinner.

We're a team of expert bamboo rod builders based in the Wasatch and Uinta Mountains of Utah. We have a passion for fly fishing, rod making, and sharing our knowledge and experience with others.

We will offer week-long bamboo fly rod making courses in our state-of-the-art rod making shop in Heber, Utah, led by a 25-year master rod craftsman. He and our staff will guide you every step of the way through the rod making process. We take a hands-on, old school approach to rod making. When the class ends, you will have built your own one-of-a-kind bamboo fly rod.
